Working With Our Local Community
Our Local Facilities
We support our students in leading as independent a life as possible and this very much includes being part of the wider community. We spend time fostering relations with the local organisations, enabling our students to access a range of interesting experiences and exciting opportunities. These include:-
- Regular visits to our local leisure centre and gym
- Local community facilities in Diss including a swimming pool
- Horse riding
- Bowling
- Local shopping facilities in Attleborough and Diss
- Norwich city centre facilities within 20 minutes for shopping, restaurants, cinema
- Trips to the Norfolk Coastline, Thetford Forest and the Norfolk Broads
Our Young Adults In their Own Homes
In the adult care homes students have the choice of either watching TV, a film or taking the opportunity to relax in their bedrooms, in the garden, participate in craft activities, do some gardening, listen to their favourite music or perhaps playing a musical instrument.
Within all of these activities our students are supported by familiar staff who know them well. We ensure that all activities are planned in advance and that our students are well prepared for each new event or change in itinerary.
Eagle Life College has a people carrier and the use of a minibus for shopping, visits and community activities. In addition to the driver, all students are supported by familiar staff whilst travelling.
